Why Catalpa, isn’t that a tree?”
Yes, the Catalpa Tree is my favorite tree and what it represents holds great significance to me. The Catalpa Tree is a late to leaf, and a late to bloom tree- I am a “late bloomer” when it comes to art. I began drawing, painting, and creating just a few years ago. In addition, the Catalpa’s broad, heart shaped leaves represent my love of all things creative. It’s bark can be steeped in tea and act as a mild sedative. I began drawing to find some zen in my life during a very stressful time. It is my go-to when I need some peace in my mind. Finally, one of the Catalpa’s main historical uses was as wood beams for structural support. I see art as being my mental structural support beam. I went through a sort of identity crisis a few years back and discovering my love of art gave me the support to grow myself into who I am today. So there you have it! Catalpa Creative is born!
